Purpose

The purpose of the Waterbridge Elementary School Library Media Center is to:

  • promote the joy of reading for pleasure through integrated curriculum activities and school-wide programs
  • create discriminating and effective users of ideas, resources, and information
  • foster a life-long learning experience through instructional use of information
for all students, teachers, and administration.

Policies and Procedures

The Waterbridge Elementary School Library Media operates under a flexible schedule with open checkout. Students may come to the library media center any time during school hours, with permission from the classroom teacher, to check out books. Orange public schools adopted the flexible schedule program to better meet the needs of teachers and students. Flexible scheduling allows for collaboration between the media specialist and teachers to create lessons that provide students with learning experiences relevant to the curriculum.

  • Primary users of WBE Library Media Center print materials are the students, teachers, and staff
  • Primary users of WBE Library Center non-print materials are the teachers and staff
